About Us

Green Acres is how we refer to our farm, which has been in our family since 1894.  It is located in Eastern Wisconsin, south of Green Bay and just north of Chilton.  Our main objective is to raise a healthful, premium, natural beef for some very important people:  our friends, family and customers!

Producing quality beef begins by considering beef breed genetic characteristics.  We use Piedmontese and Angus bulls crossed with a cow herd heavily influenced by Limousine and Hereford breeds.  The result is a healthier lean beef that retains flavor and tenderness.

Calves are weaned from the cow herd at about 550 lbs. and placed on a finish ration of silage, shelled corn, distillars grain byproduct or soy protein and hay.  The beef is market-ready in 14 to 18 months.  This is a natural process which takes more than 2 years when considering the time of mating the cow/bull.

Beef is processed to customers specifications at a state or federal inspected meat processing facility. It is sold at dressed weight for halves and quarters or by the pound for fresh frozen cuts.

Green Acres can provide you with a complete history of the entire process that begins with the genetics used in its cow/calf herd and ends with the natural, premium beef in your refrigerator.

While you will know it's healthy, your family will say that our beef is the most tender and flavorful they have ever tasted!
